Trained in preventive and family medicine, Dr. Jennifer Bentch graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine in 2021, where she also focused her studies on cardiometabolic disorders (cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes 2), pediatrics and the important area of neurodiversity, including autism, OCD and ADHD. After medical school, she completed her residency at Northwest Integrative Medicine in Portland, OR. In addition to the general practice and focused studies above, her clinical interests extend also to autoimmune conditions, chronic pain and fatigue as well as assessment and treatment of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome.
Before attending NUNM, Dr. Bentch graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Comparative Biology, focusing on cellular and molecular evolution. Many years (not revealing how many) and three children later, she found naturopathic medicine after struggling with her own health and knew immediately that was the type of medicine she was meant to practice.
Dr. Bentch takes a multi-modal approach to her treatment plans, strongly believing that most illness is the result of many smaller factors. In a visit with her, you can expect her to incorporate anything from medication to meditation, depending on the needs and preferences of the patient. She utilizes botanical medicine, lifestyle recommendations, pharmacologic medicine, visceral manipulation, movement, hydrotherapy, mindfulness, and humor to support her patients.
Outside of MVNM, she loves practicing yoga, cycling, and hanging out with her husband and three kids. On the weekends she can often be found floating in her kayak or knitting on her couch while snuggling her two pups.
